Someone wrote this down

onlineoncepower difference: not sure

Someone in a group chat I'd been in for years posted a screenshot of something I wrote, cropped so it read completely differently, with a caption making fun of it. The replies came fast — jokes, reaction images, people I'd met, people I hadn't. I typed and deleted responses for an hour. Nothing sounded right; everything sounded like proof. So I said nothing and watched it scroll away like weather. It technically ended. But I still reread that thread at 2 a.m. sometimes, and I write differently now — shorter, flatter, pre-shrunk, so there's nothing left to crop.

What they wish they’d said“That screenshot is cropped. The full message says something different, and whoever cropped it knows that.”

What would help: ideas for a response, help naming the pattern
